Congratulations to HFSE’s Core Leadership Team for completing Year 1 and all four checkpoints of its Team Navigation on July 22, 2025!
Elaine Cercado, facilitator of the program and a Director of POWERinU Training and Coaching Singapore, proudly guided the vibrant and enthusiastic core leaders of HFSE International School through this year-long strategic journey. She expressed deep appreciation for the visionary leadership of co-founders Ninalyn Sulit-Cacananta and Gary Cacananta, and their trust in the Team Navigation process.
Grounded in the award-winning NEWS Compass® by N.E.W.S.® Navigation of Switzerland, the Team Navigation program is designed to align team “compasses” so members can achieve focus, excellence, and high performance together.
The journey began in early 2Q 2024 with stakeholder interviews, briefings, and online assessments. In May 2024, the team participated in a 2-day N.E.W.S.® Team Navigation workshop, achieving key outcomes such as:
🔷 Establishing a shared language to enhance communication and trust
🔷 Building a consensus-based strategy and an optimal team vision
🔷 Identifying obstructions and challenges that could impede success
🔷 Defining the team’s core values and culture
🔷 Setting critical goals and creating tactical plans to achieve them
🔷 Maintaining focus amid challenges and change
Through the process, the team defined its North, East, West, and South directions, which led to the creation of six Strategic Initiatives, each driven by a dedicated Champion. Quarterly checkpoints followed, serving as facilitated follow-ups to ensure alignment and progress.
By the 4th checkpoint on July 22, 2025, the HFSE Core Leadership Team had completed a full year of focused, strategic navigation. The transformation from the starting point to this milestone reflects the team’s commitment, adaptability, and shared vision.
As HFSE continues to navigate an ever-changing and complex environment, the leadership team is now well-positioned to sustain high levels of alignment, focus, and performance — to the lasting benefit of its students, parents, and school community.
