2017 has been a wonderful year because we have forged stronger partnerships and developed new ones. To honor the spirit of the holiday season and to show our appreciation, we, at POWERinU Philippines, have decided that in lieu of sending our Christmas cards and gifts, we would donate to Talatuki at Ipus ning Mayap a Pastul (TIMP), a community of lowlanders and Aeta residents who were impacted greatly by the Pinatubo eruption back in 1991.
In line with POWERinU Philippines’ thrust of empowering people we welcomed the opportunity to support the efforts of a principally Catholic renewal community who visit the TIMP sites every Thursday and Saturday. The volunteers provide Leadership training in Catechism, and provide English proficiency training for the children of the community, in order to help emancipate them from poverty through skills training, better employment opportunities, and values and virtues formation through Catechism classes.
