Glue Up organized a Women in Leadership event that was hosted in their Speed Networking™ Platform. There were a series of mini-events which ran for 45 minutes across 5 days, from November 15 to November 19 at 11am-12pm (SGT/GMT +8). The mini-events comprised of 15-minute Keynote Presentations followed by a 25-minute Speed Networking Session. It was a straight-forward event that allowed more interaction between the speakers and the attendees.
Penny Bongato, Career and Life Coach, and Director of POWERinU Training and Coaching Philippines, Inc. gave the Women Leadership Series #5 on The Power of NO: Defining your Impact as a Leader with Dexter Ding, Global Creative Director of Glue Up and Alyx Bernardo, Event Manager at Glue Up as hosts. It was definitely an engaging talk with Dexter and Alyx, and a very fruitful networking session.
Why is saying no so hard? What can we do to start training ourselves to say No? Especially in the Philippine culture, it has been inculcated in us to most of the time say yes. And when women are in leadership roles, it is even more important to know when to say NO. During the session, Penny emphasized the importance of gaining confidence and empowering ourselves so we can speak up and say NO if we wanted to.
